Just Shoot Me

I might as well weigh in on the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case.  Everyone else is.

It amazes me how so many people have all ready come to a conclusion, without knowing all the facts, of what actually happened.  No matter what you think about the Tryvon shooting case, the degree of emotional and cultural outpouring is impressive.  The public outcry has been a good thing since the pressure has resulted in this case to finally being brought before a court of law.  However, it concerns me that a group identified as the New Black Panthers offered a $10,000, “Dead or Alive” bounty placed on the capture of the alleged murderer, George Zimmerman, without yet being found guilty in a court of law.  Vigilantism is an act to carry out extralegal punishment in defiance of existing law.  This is essentially mob rule, or pure democracy, where the rule of law is no longer observed.  Our country is established as a constitutional republic.  It is where our rule of law protects an individual from mob rule.

The race issue has been a big issue in this case.  As far a God is concerned, there is only one race.  It’s called the human race.  So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  Genesis 1:27  Man looks upon the outward appearance, but God looks upon the heart.  I Sam. 16:7  This is a heart issue.  For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Romans 3:23  For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16
